The NV400's 2.3 litres dCi turbodiesel engine is available in five different tunes, from 130HP to 170HP. All deliver smooth, quiet power for stress-free driving, coupled with frugal fuel consumption and all the torque you need for heavy-duty hauling. The standard diesel particulate filter (DPF) keeps particulate emissions to a minimum, and the 145HP and 165HP twin-turbo engines meet Euro6 standards.
The front-wheel-drive NV400 has a lower kerbweight and improved fuel economy. Additionally, the chassis is lower, which means more space for larger payloads and easier loading.
POWER TO THE FOREFRONT
DOUBLE THE BOOST
On the twin-turbo 135HP engine the smaller turbocharger boosts low-speed torque and the larger turbo gives extra mid-range power. Add to that energy-efficient technologies such as Start/Stop and regenerative braking, and you have quite a drivetrain.
The 150HP unit uses a single variable-geometry turbo to boost performance. It's ideal if you're planning to carry heavy loads.
The 165HP engine again uses twin turbochargers for maximum torque all through the rev range. For the biggest rear-drive NV400s it's the perfect power unit.
Rear-wheel-drive models use a twin-turbo version of the 2,3 litres engine available in either 135HP or 165HP form. Start/Stop technology and regenerative braking help lower fuel consumption. The 2,3 litres 150HP comes with the robotized gearbox.
A FORCE TO RECKON WITH
Incorporating twin turbochargers, one small and one larger, the 135HP engine boosts torque output at low rpm – when you need maximum power for acceleration, or for when towing.
The 165HP version of the NV400’s 2.3-litre engine offers impressive torque whilst keeping fuel consumption under control. That’s the benefit of the sophisticated twin-turbo system.
LOW MAINTENANCE, LOW RUNNING COSTS
EASY ON YOUR BUDGET
The Nissan NV400 is designed to have exceptionally low operating costs. Oil and filter changes are at 40000km, or every two years, and you'll be pleased to know that Nissan uses a timing chain and not a belt – so you can say goodbye to regular belt replacement.
EFFICIENT POWER DELIVERY
THE PERFECT MATCH
Whichever engine you choose for your NV400, we have a transmission perfectly matched to it, for top performance, reliability and fuel efficiency.
POWER OF SIX
A six speed gearbox is standard. The extra gear means easier pulling in the lower gears and more relaxed cruising in top. Mounted on the dashboard, the gearlever is conveniently placed and makes for more floorspace.
THE GEARBOX THAT THINKS FOR YOU
The six speed robotised gearbox available with the 125HP and 150HP engines gives automatic shifting, so you’re always in the right gear for optimum performance and economy.
TIME FOR A CHANGE
Get the most out of every shift. The six speed manual gearbox features a dashboard light to let you know when to change gear for maximum economy.
MEETING YOUR NEEDS
Different jobs have different needs. That’s why the Nissan NV400 range offers a choice of front-wheel-drive and rear-wheel-drive LCVs, as well as different wheelbases and body heights. Whatever configuration you choose, the NV400 gives you Nissan quality and reliability as you go about your business.
LEADING FROM THE FRONT
Front-wheel drive allows the vehicle to weigh less – which means you use less fuel. Additionally, the lower chassis height allows more carrying space and easier loading.
WHEN TRACTION COUNTS
The rear-wheel-drive NV400 is the traditional choice for specialist bodies using the chassis-cab. Rear drive allows your load to be better distributed front to back, ensuring safe handling. Best suited to medium-duty applications and ideal for towing, RWD variants come with load-sensitive Electronic Stability Control as standard.
GRIP IN ALL CONDITIONS
Slippery conditions are no trouble for the NV400. The Extended Grip system optimises traction on surfaces such as mud, sand or snow. It transfers engine torque between each of the driven wheels by up to 25% to help maintain grip and get you moving. Hill Start Assist, meanwhile, holds the brakes long enough for you to move your foot from brake to accelerator when you're starting on a hill.
LOCK THAT DIFF
Available on rear-wheel-drive models, the locking differential improves traction and control on slippery surfaces. It distributes power evenly to each rear wheel, keeping them both under power.
WE HAVE TAKE-OFF…
An optional power take-off (PTO) allows you to run auxiliary equipment such as pumps, winches or cranes – so there’s always power available to finish the job.
SWAY NO MORE
Trailer Sway Assist delivers extra control when you're towing. If the trailer starts swinging from side to side, the system reduces engine torque and applies the brakes to the driven wheels to bring the trailer back into line.
