Retro Drive In Movies

Nissan has announced a new partnership with Retro Drive-In Movies which will bring its award winning range of vehicles to the attention of thousands of drivers enjoying the popular big-screen events at a host of locations nationwide.

“We are delighted to partner with Retro Drive-In Movies having identified the unique opportunity that they present to engage with thousands of drivers as they enjoy the big screen experience from the comfort of their car,” said Jeanne McGann, Head of Marketing and Communications at Nissan.

“Nissan is a popular brand with families who have made cars like the award winning Nissan Qashqai and the spacious zero emissions Nissan LEAF best-selling cars in Ireland. This partnership is a great fit for Nissan, allowing us to continue engaging with families seeking value, reliability, comfort and innovation in the cars they drive,” she added.

Retro Drive-In Movies hosts more than 25 days of events each year which are attended by some 85,000 people in over 20,000 vehicles. Their 70 movie screenings allow families to rock up, roll in and to watch their favourite movies from the comfort of their car and to listen to the movies on their car stereo.

As part of the partnership Nissan will supply Retro Drive-in Movies with the all-new Nissan X-Trail 7-seater crossover, which is packed with technology to take any family where they want to go in comfort and style, and the Nissan Navara which is renowned for its capacity to handle the biggest jobs in stand-out style and design.

The partnership provides Nissan with big-screen advertising and audio branding on the Retro Drive-In radio station. Nissan will showcase its award winning range of Nissan vehicles at movie events and families can also win tickets to enjoy drive-in movie screenings from the Nissan VIP Parking Zone.

Retro Drive-In Movies will also make its new 21 square metre large LED Screen Trailer available to Nissan dealers. It can be used for movie events for audiences of up to 1,000 people and for bespoke forecourt advertising campaigns.

“We are delighted to partner with Nissan which is a familiar brand to the many families who attend our drive-in movie screenings. The agreement to supply a Nissan X-Trail and Nissan Navara will help us to bring our events to many more locations nationwide and to enhance the unique experience that we offer movie-goers,” said Barry Clarke, Operations Manager at Retro Drive-In Movies.

“We are increasing the number of venues at which we host drive-in movies to include Leopardstown, Mallow and Galway Racecourses as well as the new Movies on the Lawn concept which will take place at Malahide Castle and Newbridge House. We look forward to working with Nissan to reach new audiences,” he added.
