Takata airbag : What's the problem:

Takata Corporation, who supplied Nissan with airbags for the models listed below, has advised Nissan that these airbags may develop a fault over time. In the event of an accident, the airbags may inflate with such extreme force that parts of the airbag unit could shatter resulting in metal fragments being discharged into the cabin. In such circumstances these metal fragments could cause severe injury to you and/or your passengers.

What should you do?

Act now and don’t delay. If you have not already had your vehicle repaired, please contact your local Nissan dealer or Nissan Ireland with your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to verify if the vehicle is affected. A list of affected vehicles and production periods is listed below. Nissan Ireland has started to contact all affected customers by letter for a free of charge passenger airbag inflator replacement. Nissan Ireland aims to send all letters to affected customers within 2019. Please wait until you have received your letter before making an appointment with a dealer to have your airbag replaced. If you have any questions in relation to this recall, please contact your local Nissan dealer or Nissan Ireland on this number: (01) 409 11 00
