DRIVING PLEASURE

- Say goodbye to engine noise and appreciate the joys of quieter driving.
- Thanks to a chassis redesigned by the Nissan R&D team, LEAF offers superior handling.

WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE TO DRIVE AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE?

Driving an electric vehicle isn’t that different to driving an automatic car. It’s exceptionally quiet inside the LEAF and has even been compared to the Rolls Royce* on that level.

The best way to find out is to try it for yourself!

RANGE

Grey line

DOES USING THE HEATING SYSTEM AND OTHER EQUIPMENT LIKE THAT REDUCE THE RANGE OF THE VEHICLE?

Using the heating or air-conditioning system has a certain impact on the distance you cover, but you can use an intelligent system that allows you to heat or cool down your Nissan LEAF beforehand, prior to travel, while the battery’s being charged. When you’re connected to your
home-charging system or a public charging point, the electricity comes directly from the sector (6.6kW onboard charger), not from your
lithium-ion battery, so your autonomy will not be affected.

HOW FAR CAN THE NEW NISSAN LEAF GO ON A FULL CHARGE?

With a new extended range of up to 385 km, you can go further and stay out longer than ever before.

E-PEDAL

Grey line

DOES THE NEW NISSAN LEAF HAVE ONE-PEDAL DRIVING?

Yes. The new Nissan LEAF features the e-Pedal. You can accelerate and brake in one smooth motion. It’s lots of fun, and enhances regenerative braking, too. At the flip of a switch, you can go back to driving with two pedals.

ARE THERE ANY WAYS TO EXTEND YOUR RANGE?

Get recharged and discover a new way to drive using the new Nissan LEAF’s e-Pedal, which allows you to get around and extend your range with a single pedal.

CHARGING

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO CHARGE YOUR NISSAN LEAF?

Save time. Save money. Using the on-board timer or compatible smartphone you can set LEAF to charge whenever you’d like, including during non-peak hours when electricity rates are their lowest.

WHERE ARE ELECTRIC CAR CHARGING STATIONS LOCATED?

There are now 4,600 public charging stations in Europe - and more than 1,200 chargers in Ireland. Check the charging map to locate them!

HOW TO FIND ELECTRIC CAR CHARGING STATIONS ON THE GO?

Use LEAF’s Zero Emission menu on your navigation screen to find the closest public charging station to you. The system is smarter than ever on the new Nissan LEAF, with additional filters that let you search by type of charger and method of payment.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE AND A THERMIC VEHICLE?

Electric and thermic-engined vehicles are very similar. Besides the obvious difference regarding propulsion, the main differences lie in the energy needs and maintenance costs of an electric vehicle.

Instead of having to go and fill up at a petrol station, an electric vehicle can be recharged at home overnight. Also, they have far less mobile parts than thermic vehicles, which reduces the risk of unforeseen maintenance.

How long does it take to charge 100% a New Nissan LEAF?

You can recharge your Nissan LEAF electric city car at home or at any public charging point.
To charge your Nissan LEAF at home, all you have to do is plug your electric vehicle into a 220V plug using either the cable provided for home-charging (EVSE) or the cable attached to your Wallbox for a normal charge (Type 2).

To charge your battery when you’re away from home, the Nissan LEAF comes with a connecter for a quick charger like the CHAdeMO (a cable attached to the charging point). This connector allows you to use all the quick charging stations put in place by Nissan and its partners.

Thanks to the Type 2 cable, you can also charge your electric vehicle at Autolib’ stations in France.

WHAT IS YOUR CHARGING ROUTINE?

Charge at home, at work, or out around town. Now, you can plug directly into a 240-volt home outlet, without installing a home charging dock. Coupled with a growing number of public charging stations, a faster charge is within reach.

DOES THE NISSAN LEAF USE REGENERATIVE BRAKING TO HELP RECHARGE THE BATTERY?

Yes. Each time you decelerate or brake, the electric engine plays the role of a generator to recover part of the energy that hasn’t been used to recharge the battery.

WHAT IS NISSAN LEAF ECO MODE?

By choosing ECO mode, you can extend your range by up to 10%. It  limits engine output, saves energy and slightly increases regenerative braking which boosts your range as well.

Low running costs

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO RUN AN ELECTRIC CAR?

The electricity consumption of a 100% electric vehicle only costs around 2€ /100 km* - or just 20 € for 1000 km.
An equivalent diesel or petrol car can cost up to 10 times more. In certain regions, electric vehicles also benefit from reduced or even free parking. Contact you county council for more information.

*based on the average price of domestic electricity consumption during off-peak hours (meter 6 kVA) in January 2016.

WHAT KIND OF GRANTS CAN YOU GET WITH THE PURCHASE OF AN ELECTRIC CAR?

ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFITS

Extremely green, electric vehicles don’t emit any CO2 when they’re in use.

FIND OUT MORE ABOUT OUR SAVINGS AND BENEFITS

DOES AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE IS THE SAME AS A HYBRID VEHICLE?

There’s often a confusion between electric cars and hybrid cars, but hybrid cars are equipped with a thermic engine in addition to the electric engine.
Electric cars like new Nissan LEAF use only an electric engine: which means that they do not need fuel and that they do not produce emissions while driving.

IS NEW NISSAN LEAF TRULY A ZERO EMISSION VEHICLE?

Vehicles with low emissions, like electric cars, are vehicles that emit little or no CO2. Electric vehicles like the Nissan LEAF produce 0g/km of CO2 while in use because they are powered by battery alone. Nissan believes in the potential of low CO2 emission vehicles. We’re working with a number of partners in local and national government as well as other sectors to help develop the infrastructure required for a future of clean mobility.
