2.11. Hybrid system drive mode

There are three drive modes of the hybrid system.

Drive mode

Features

SPORT

This mode balances EV like quick response characteristics and fuel economy.

  • The drive response to accelerator operation is better than the STANDARD mode, and high acceleration performance is achieved (emphasizes the characteristics of electric motor drive).

  • The feeling of deceleration when releasing the accelerator pedal is similar to that of a vehicle powered by a petrol engine only.

ECO

This mode places emphasis on fuel economy.

  • By making the driving force response to accelerator operation gentler than in STANDARD mode, it suppresses unnecessary acceleration / deceleration and realizes fuel saving.

  • Further, in order to suppress unnecessary deceleration, the regenerative brake by accelerator operation is less to allow for more coasting.

STANDARD

This mode is recommended for normal driving.

  • Smooth acceleration with good accelerator response.

  • The feeling of deceleration when releasing the accelerator pedal is similar to that of a vehicle powered by a regular petrol engine.
